Is pickup really free?

Yes. Submitting a request is free, and pickup is free for accepted items anywhere in our Fairfield County service area. We confirm everything with you before we come, so there are never any surprises or hidden charges.

What electronics do you take?

Accepted Answer

We take working TVs (flat screens 40 inches and under, and small CRTs), computers and laptops, working monitors, audio and video gear including VCRs, video game consoles and games, and phones and tablets. Most items can be working or not, but TVs and monitors must be working. Just tell us the condition on the request form.

How quickly can you come?

Accepted Answer

Most pickups are scheduled within a few days of your request. Use the preferred pickup days field on the form to tell us what works for you, and we will confirm a specific day and time before we head out.

Do I need to be home during the pickup?

Accepted Answer

In most cases, yes. Someone 18 or older should be present so we can access the items and confirm the removal. If that does not work for you, mention it in your request and we can discuss leaving items in an accessible spot like a driveway or porch.

Question 5

What about personal data on my computer or phone?

Accepted Answer

We recommend removing or wiping your hard drive, SSD, or phone before pickup. We are not a certified data destruction service. If you cannot remove the drive yourself, note it on your request and we will physically destroy the drive on request at no charge.

Do you take broken items?

Accepted Answer

Some. We accept non-working computers, game consoles, phones, tablets, and audio gear, and broken items are recycled responsibly. TVs and monitors must be working, though, and we cannot take large tube TVs, cracked screens, printers, or large appliances.

What don't you take?

Accepted Answer

We cannot take large CRT or tube TVs, cracked-screen or non-working TVs and monitors, printers and scanners, large household appliances such as refrigerators, washers, or ovens, or anything containing hazardous materials like chemicals, paint, or leaking batteries. If you are unsure about an item, describe it on the request form and we will let you know.

Is there a size limit on what you take?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We are a small home-based operation, not a warehouse, so we can only take items that one person can reasonably carry. That means no large floor-standing speakers, oversized speaker cabinets, or anything that needs two people or a truck to move. When in doubt, describe the item on the request form and we will let you know.
